Two SMA Students Chosen as Junior Achievement Ambassadors!

Gabrielle Waldburger (6th grade) and Jimmy Irwin (5th grade) were selected as two of the twelve Junior Achievement Ambassadors for San Diego.

Gabrielle Waldburger (6th grade) and Jimmy Irwin (5th grade) were selected as Junior Achievement Student Ambassadors for San Diego.  Junior Achievement is a non-profit organization which serves over 40,000 students in San Diego.  Gabby and Jimmy were chosen as two of the twelve ambassadors out of the 43 students who were nominated across the county.

"Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students about work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs.  Junior Achievement programs help prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs which make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace.  Students put these lessons into action, and help strengthen their communities." Gabrielle and Jimmy will represent Junior Achievement to the business community in San Diego and Imperial Counties.  Their task is to show how important Junior Achievement is in their preparation for the real world and a global economy.  Stella Maris students in grades K-8 participate in the Junior Achievement program.
