Stella Maris Academy is a Catholic TK–8 school at 7654 Herschel Avenue, La Jolla, CA 92037. Our website is https://stellamarisacademy.org. This policy explains what information we collect from families through our website, forms and advertising, and how we use it.
Information we collect
When you fill out a form on our website or on Facebook or Instagram (for example, to RSVP for an Open House or to request information), we may collect:
- Parent or guardian name
- Email address and phone number
- Your child’s first name and the grade they will be entering
- Your answers to optional questions (such as how you heard about us or what matters to you in a school)
- Comments or questions you choose to send us
We also collect basic, non-identifying information about how visitors use our website, such as pages viewed, device type and approximate location, through analytics and advertising tools (see “Cookies and tracking” below).
How we use your information
- To respond to your questions and requests for information
- To confirm your Open House RSVP and send you event details and reminders
- To follow up about admissions
- To understand how families find us and to improve our website and outreach
We do not sell your personal information.

We use trusted third-party services to run our website and forms. These providers process information on our behalf:
- Google Forms and Google Sheets – to receive and store form responses
- Google Analytics – to understand website traffic
- Google Ads and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) advertising – to show our ads to local families and measure whether they work
- Meta lead forms – when you submit a form directly on Facebook or Instagram
Cookies and tracking
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, including the Google tag and the Meta Pixel. These help us measure visits and form submissions and show relevant ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can manage ad preferences in your Google account (adssettings.google.com) and in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings.
Children’s information
Our forms are intended for parents and guardians. We only collect a child’s first name and grade as provided by their parent or guardian, for admissions purposes. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
How we share information
Your information is used by Stella Maris Academy staff for the purposes above. We may share it with our service providers as described, with the Diocese of San Diego Office for Schools where required, or when required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry and RSVP information for as long as it is useful for admissions follow-up, and then delete it.
Your choices
You can ask us to update or delete your information, or to stop contacting you, at any time by emailing the school or calling 858-454-2461. California residents may have additional rights under state law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it was last changed.
